The Historical Society offers the region a variety of programs designed to highlight and celebrate our area’s rich history. The schedule of 2017 events is below. Note that unless otherwise noted, most programs take place at 3pm at the Newburgh Heritage Center in the Old Courthouse at 123 Grand Street (across from the Library).

Walking Tour of Kowawese Unique Area
A walking tour of this beautiful area near Plum Point, New Windsor, to be led by Evan Pritchard, professor of Native American history at Marist College. The walking tour (2-4 pm) will be followed by a visit to the Nichol House (4-5).
Meet at Kowawese Park, 2pm.

Orange County “Taste of History”
Crawford House will be open 1-4 pm in association with other historic sites in the mid-Hudson region.

A brief annual meeting, followed by a talk by Susan Stessin-Cohn, New Paltz Town Historian, based on her book “In Defiance” (Black Dome Press, 2016).

Join us for our annual tour of private homes, many of them historic, in the Newburgh area. The houses, as well as Crawford House, will be decorated for the holidays.
