Join us for a tour through the impressive 1830 home of Captain David Crawford!
A civic leader and maritime entrepreneur, Crawford played a key role in the transition of Newburgh from a small riverside community to a thriving shipping and industrial city. His Federal-style home, now the headquarters of the Newburgh Historical Society, once situated atop 500 acres of property over looking the Hudson River, aptly reflected his wealth and stature in the community. Serving as stewards of our history, the Society is dedicated to preserving, promoting and protecting the unique history, architecture and culture of Newburgh. Our unique story is told through the Society’s collections, programs and events.
